The Difference A Day Makes

Yesterday you held me tightly
close to your chest;
You kissed my lips with passion
our love it was the best.

Your hands caressed my body
passion was at its height;
Our bodies blended as one
we loved with all our might.

Your eyes they said you loved me
your heart beat quickly with mine;
I thought I would see you next week
same place, same time.

How could I have known as I drove away
the words that you would say;
All my dreams of tomorrow
turned to nightmares today.

Oh, the difference a day makes,
though I want you even more;
Yet I stand outside waiting -
as you slowly close the door.
